Time to Work!

Just over a year and a half ago, I made the decision to quit my job in the Netherlands to go back to school. Nine years after completing my bachelor's degree and swearing I would never return to school, I found myself itching to be back in the classroom. Maybe spending every day working on a university campus had something to do with it...

The Harvard Chapter

In August of 2024, I began my Master's of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. My degree program, Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship, allowed me to take classes that ranged from statistics for academic research to a course called Leading Change. Leading Change focused on helping organizations, teams, and individuals develop in a wholistic, sustainable and scalable way. I also took some classes that were just for me and for fun, like Political Organizing: People, Power, Change. Like any degree program, there were some classes that felt deeply impactful, and of course some that were just okay. But all in all, what a phenomenal experience and a year filled with personal growth.

What’s Next

After graduating in May 2025, and taking a break to spend time with family, I am on the job hunt again! While I am drawn to roles involving leading degree programs at universities or other education initiatives, I am open to exploring roles at non-profits and corporations alike. Rather than chasing a specific job title, I am taking a values-based approach to the job-search. I am seeking roles and organizations where:

·      Empathy and community building are paramount

·      The value of continuous growth and learning underpin what the organization is aiming to do

·      Scalable change is balanced with a human touch.
